Patna is the city of dreams, memory and nostalgia for many of the people who left it over the years in search of education and jobs. Moving to a different city, leaving behind family and friends, to forge a new life is never easy but coming back can be bittersweet.
Senior business journalist Surabhi has turned the spotlight on Patna, highlighting the joys and difficulties of living in the city. Her recently released book, The Girls from Patna, traces the journey of two sisters — Neha and Priyanka, who return home for a brief visit.
Circumstances separate the two women, circumstances bring them closer. And throughout the book you see a glimmer of hope on both sides. It is a simple story, simply told about mending broken relationships and it will only be one step at a time.
A relatable and funny family drama, the book is an easy, relaxed read of 225 pages.
This is Surabhi’s first book and took her about two years to write. Hailing from Patna, she has spent a large part of her life in Delhi and a some years in Mumbai. Most of her family, like many families in Bihar, have moved out of the State and are scattered across India and the world. The publisher of this book is Locksley Hall Publishing. The book was launched on February 3, 2022. It is available on Amazon and Pustakmandi and in leading bookstores across the country
