State to get first 10 lane road. Construction from Saguna Mor to Danapur

he state’s first 10-lane road will be constructed from Saguna Mor to Danapur.

Road construction minister Nand Kishore Yadav announced on Thursday that the work will start soon.

The widest roads Bihar has so far are six-lane.

The total length of the 10-lane road will be 4.05km and it will be constructed at a cost of Rs 72 crore. The proposal has been sent to New Delhi as the work will be done from the Centre’s road fund.

“Many road projects are underway in Bihar but one project that will change the face of the state is the first 10-lane road,” Nand Kishore said. “In coming days, the pressure of traffic is going to increase manifold on the Bailey Road stretch up to Danapur via Saguna Mor. Foreseeing the traffic pressure, we have decided to convert the present four-lane road into a 10-lane one from Saguna Mor to Danapur.”

There is also a plan to build an expressway between Patna and Bihta.

Bihar State Road Development Corporation (BSRDC) has already started the survey work keeping the future needs in mind as the state government and the Airports Authority of India have agreed to develop the Bihta air base of the Indian Air Force for civilian flights.

Nand Kishore said there is hardly any space in the main city so now onwards most of the construction work is going on in places like Danapur and Bihta. Many corporate offices and educational institutes have opened in Danapur in the last decade.

“Danapur is not the same Danapur of 20 years ago; a lot of development has taken place,” the minister said. “In fact, Patna is shifting towards Danapur and Saguna Mor is equally developing as many institutes, hospitals and many more things are coming up. When the airport would be made at Bihta the area will automatically develop. So with all this in mind, the 10-lane road would be a big help for residents.”

He said the work on the 10-lane road will be completed within a year after commencement of work.
