Bihar is famous for its UPSC aspirants. The league of IAS officers coming from this state is glorified throughout the country. One more UPSC aspirant has made the state proud again and mentioned his name in the legacy of 19 years of Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony Entertainment Television. This season of KBC got its first crorepati winner on Friday, 13th September. The winner- Sanoj Raj hails from Jahanabad, Bihar, who is a 25-year-old UPSC aspirant.
Raj has completed his B.Tech degree from West Bengal University. Coming from a farmer family, Sanoj Raj has always been an active member in environmental conservation activities. His father Ramjanam Sharma is a farmer and mother Kalindi Devi is a homemaker who lives at their village Dhongra in Jehanabad.
Sanoj Raj was the last contestant of the ‘Fastest Fingers First‘ of this week who came to the hot seat on Thursday and won Rs 1 crore in the next episode of Friday. Sanoj faced the 7 crores question but couldn’t find a suitable answer. He decided to quit with 1 crore reward which made him the first crorepati of the season game of KBC. During the quiz, Amitabh Bachchan appreciated Sanoj’s game sense and his knowledge. Sanoj played with patience and smartness; this impressed the host Mr.Bachchan too.

The introductory clip of Sanoj showed his dream towards working for the betterment of society, for that he opted IAS to be his goal. He has been working as Assistant Commandant for two years. In Thursday’s episode, Sanoj shared his problem of being unable to pronounce ‘L’ sound. To which Amitabh Bachchan noticed he could pronounce L during his conversation. A curious Amitabh quizzed Sanoj about his name and he explained that it means ‘abandonment’. Big B then asked that if it could also mean satisfaction and if he was satisfied with his life. Sanoj replied that he was happy, but not satisfied and perhaps after the day’s game, he would be satisfied.
Sanoj Raj gave Bihar a moment to feel proud. After Sushil Kumar who won a couple of years before, Sanoj’s way of playing and answering to questions was impressive, which surely depicts he went with good preparation and confidence for playing KBC.
