Patna’s lad Amritanshu Dutta rocking the nation through his musical escapade on the sets of ‘Dil hai Hindustani’

Amritanshu Dutta, a Bihari making the Hindustanis croon to his music!

The 22 year old contestant of Star Plus’s reality show ‘Dil hai Hindustani’, Amritanshu Dutta, hails from Patna and is making all the Biharis proud through his exceptional performance.
Amritanshu Dutta,  a student of DAV Anisabad and DAV Khagaul, started his musical training at Ravindra Bhawan. He was interested in playing a guitar like most youths these days and so, he was not much interested in learning the slide string guitar. But with time, his interest in the instrument developed and he started practising with more enthusiasm. A slide string guitar is a modified guitar with 22 strings. After his 12th, he sought admission in LPU, Punjab but very soon, he left engineering for persuing his dream of a musician. In 2011, he received the first prize in Zonal as well as State level youth festival hosted by the Government of India. He later on went to represent Bihar in nationals held at Udaipur. In the year 2012, he bagged the first prize in National Folk Orchestra competition where he made a record of playing 10 musical instruments in a single event. Amritanshu Dutta has won the National Trophy in AIU youth festival, thrice. He has also performed on Doordarshan in Kolkata, Chandigarh and Mumbai and was acknowledged as the Best Performer of the show. He has a number of prizes to his credit in the category of instrumentals at the national level.  He performed in the international event,  Asia Hosteliers Meet and has also performed thrice as a guest performer in the International event Saufest. Not only this, Amritanshu is also an avid photographer and loves capturing moments through his shutterbugs. He also has keen interest in sports and theatre and participated in a number of sports events at school level.
Amritanshu’s father is the Director of the Geological Survey of India and his mother is a teacher at DAV, Anisabad. Inspite of the fact that he does not belong to a musical background, he was always encouraged by his parents. It is a result of his rigorous hard work, his extraordinary calibre and the constant support and encouragement of his parents that he has been able to carve a niche for himself.
The platform of the show ‘Dil hai Hindustani’ is different from other musical talent hunts and thus, Amritanshu Dutta has all the more opportunity of showcasing his versatality as a musician and performer. He has been selected for the next level and there’s no doubt that he would continue intensifying the glory of Bihar with his outstanding performances.
“I want to tell the nation that being a Bihari doesn’t mean that they are incapable of representing his/her talent globally.. the name of the state does not describe the qualities of a person.. I promise to myself and all the Biharis that one day i will do something extraordinary so that the whole nation will say that he is from Bihar and has made all of us proud,”says Amritanshu Dutta, the boy who is ready to take his audience into a different world through his music.
Amritanshu’s idol is Pandit Brijbhushan Kabla, the inventor of Indian Classical Guitar and he is deeply inspired by the thoughts and wisdom  of the King of Romance, Shah Rukh Khan whom Amritanshu Dutta had the opportunity to meet on the sets of the show itself. Amritanshu Dutta has been honoured with a number of accolades and has won a series of contests and bagged a hoard of prizes. He has already proved his mettle as a musician at such an early age and by being a contestant of a musical show that has some of the most talented and influential personalities of the film fraternity as its judges, there is no doubting the fact that someday, Amritanshu is definitely going to be a well-known musician of India and exemplify Bihar as the upholder of multiferous talents through his achievements.
