HomeBiharPatna’s Kids get a new park at Gandhi Maidan to play in PatnaBeats Bihar, Bihari Representational Image City kids now have more options to enjoy outside their houses as another children’s park with many outdoor equipment was opened at Gandhi Maidan on Wednesday. This is the second park for children in the state capital inaugurated this month. On June 8, one park spread over five acres was inaugurated at the Sanjay Gandhi Biological park (Patna zoo). Though entry was free on Wednesday, the administration would charge Rs5 per person for entering the park. Calling it one of the best parks of the city in terms of equipment, Patna divisional commissioner Anand Kisohor said 43 different types of outdoor play equipment have been installed for children of all age groups and the interior was made environment-friendly. Waterproof painting on the walls surrounding the park depicts utility of forest along with photos of animals sending message about the importance of nature to the children. The flooring has also been done with pebble and the playing area has been filled with sand to avoid injury to children. The park would be opened from 5am till 8pm so that morning and evening walkers could bring kids along with them. Kishor said the best thing about the park was its location. “People can easily reach Gandhi Maidan from any part of the city. We have also kept very nominal entry fee, which is just for crowd management,” he said. Sources said tender has also been finalized for the food court, which would be on a van to be kept on the Kargil Chowk corner from July 15. Apart from offering various delicacies, it would also offer famous eateries of Bihar like litti-chokha, belgrami, anarsa and other food items. Source: TNN Do you like the article?
