Patna Pirates took Victory March in Patna

An exuberant Patna Pirates pro Kabaddi team arrived in the state capital on Wednesday to take a victory lap after winning the third season of the Pro Kabaddi League following theirspectacular win over U Mumba in the season finale played earlier in Delhi.

As the players emerged from the airplane and outside Patna Airport, a large, boisterous crowd greeted them with loud cheers and garlands to show their adulation for the team that, with its unprecedented dominance in the recently-concluded third season, showed to the world what strong determination and team-play could achieve.

From the airport, the Patna Pirates players boarded an open bus with the winning trophy clearly visible as they waved to their thousands of fans for their love and support during their bid to prove their supremacy in the world of Kabaddi.

The bus, after crossing through Bailey Road and Dak Bungalow Road, arrived at a Patliputra Sports complex where the players and the Patna Pirates officials were facilitated  by officials and welcomed by eager fans.
While speaking to PatnaBeats, Captain Manpreet, Sandeep Narewal, CEO S.Rana, Team Manager Kartik thanked the citizen of Patna and Bihar for the enormus support for the team.

S. Rana, the CEO of Patna Pirates thanked the fans for their support and expressed his hope in the Nitish administration for developing infrastructure to help budding sports enthusiasts.

“Pataliputra Sports Complex is fine but it lacks basic amenities and that is why we have to send our players to Gujarat for training. My hope is that the Bihar government will spare no stone unturned in developing sports facilities in the state so we can keep our players right here in Bihar,” Rana said.

As recalled, the Patna Pirates defeated U Mumba on February 5 in New Delhi in a nail-biter finale beating the opponents 31-28. Besides the trophy, the winners also walked away with a cash prize of Rs. one crore.

Later, the team was honored at a public function at the Gandhi Maidan in the presence of Patna Divisional Commissioner Anand Kishore.
