“I never imagined that something like this would embark in Patna. Now, I can tell that my Patna is not lesser than Mumbai and Goa” said a Patnaite who came to visit the new picnic spot at Patna’s Marine Drive. Soon after the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the new route, many people flocked to visit the place.

It took almost a decade to construct, more than 3000 crores of expenditure have been spent on constructing the path. The 6.5 km route attaching Digha and PMCH passes through the bank of Ganges and is also known as Ganga Driveway. The construction of the path has been done on 13m high dams. “It reduces the travelling time and now it will take only 15-20 minutes to reach PMCH from Digha”, said Nitin Nabin, Road construction Minister of Bihar. The total length of the path is 20 km long but for now, only the first phase has been commenced. For the people of Patna, this seems like a big gift from the government, their response says it all.
