Patna Literature Festival, 2019 all set to begin from 1st February


The third edition of Patna Literature Festival is all set to begin at Gyan Bhawan, Patna on 1st of February. This 3-day long festival of literature, art and cinema will be enthralling as legendary artists, famous writers, phenomenal actors and eminent personalities like from entertainment industry will be present at the fest from all over the country.

Patna Literature Festival, 2019 will be inaugurated by Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar on 1st February at 11:30 AM in the presence of Sushil Kumar Modi, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and Krishna Kumar Rishi, Minister, Art and Culture Department.

This event is being organised by Navras School of Performing Arts where 85 renowned writers from all over the country will take part. There will be 34 sessions in this edition of Patna Literature Festival where discourse in 8 different languages will be witnessed. Along with it, two cultural performances will take place on 1st and 2nd February where people can enjoy Qawwali by Nizam brothers and Dastangoi- an old storytelling art form by Himanshu Bajpai.

Various topics will be discussed from ancient civilization to the wars fought, which changed the stream of history and provided myths and legends a new dimension. There will be fascinating talk sessions related to these topics in 2019 edition of Patna Literature Festival. There is also a Flash-fiction contest whose winners will be announced in the literature festival.

This event will start by remembering the legends of literature, who left us in 2019. Famous writers like Narendra Kohli, Usha Kiran Khan, Maitreyi Pushp, Pawan K Verma, Ashwani Kumar, Alok Dhanwa, Gagan Gill, Hrishikesh Sulabh, Keki Daruwala, Yatindra Mishra, Vandana Raag, Anamika, Mahua Manjhi and others will participate to make the event memorable.

Patna Literature Festival is an initiative to bring Literature, Art, Culture, and Media at one stage. Numerous talks and panel discussions on relevant topics, documentaries, Film-screenings, cultural events, art and crafts tradition of Bihar and much more will take place in the literature festival. Focusing on different languages of Bihar, writers from Hindi, Urdu, English and other Indian languages will be present to share their thoughts over different issues.

The eminent people who will be present in the literature festival are Gulzar, Irshad Kamil, Sheen Kaaf Nizam, Pankaj Tripathi, Namita Gokhale, Harivansh, Pankaj Dubey, Anil Dharkar, Vinay Pathak and many more.

In 2013 also, Patna Literature Festival was organised by Navras School of Performing Arts with the help of Department of Art, Culture and Youth, Bihar. Their aim is to inspire the young generation of Bihar to write, speak and study about the art and the literature and to create a common platform where Indian and International can establish a conversation with the youth.
