The present base of Bhojpuri movies has polluted the art of music, lyrics and drama. Once we talk about Bhojpuri cinema and music, all you visualize are the worst content hovering in the market and getting popular. But when you look for good content, you can find some movies hidden behind the focus and limelight of overrated Bhojpuri vulgarity. We have good news for all the cinema and music lovers, this time you can add Bhojpuri to your list. This September Bihar is going to witness a romantic family drama ‘Papihra’ by Witty Froth Films which will be released internationally.
The First Look of the movie has been released recently at Bishva Bhojpuri Sammelan in Delhi. ‘Papihra’ has been directed by Seenu Mohanty and co-produced by S.N.Singh and Devendra Singh. It is the first Bhojpuri movie which will be released internationally in Netherlands, Mauritius and Surinam as well. Staying away from the cheap content, this movie has a predominantly Bihari cast and crew. Along with that the movie also has artists from other countries as well. One of the lead actresses, Irina Blanch is from Russia and one of the music directors and singer Rajmohan is from the Netherlands. Vikesh Singh, Raju Upadhyay, Bir bahadur Singh, Chandani Singh, Sugandha, Vishal, OP Pandey and Harsh Jain are the lead actors of the movie.
The story revolves around a family with a father, who is more certain about his principles and a love story buds inside the boundaries. The movie “Papihra” is a romantic Family drama, a mix of humour, passion, ambition, emotions and conflict of thoughts followed by their consequences. The movie has been shot at different locations in Bihar and Goa.
In case of any feature film, the basic blend of its outlook depends on plot and music. The current status of Bhojpuri music is declining and globally it has worsened the image of Bihar. So it was difficult to bring music in a new form, and in a way that the audience love and accept it.

“We have worked on music with full creativity. Mixing the Bollywood theme, 70-80’s Bhojpuri folk and even the pop and rock music has been curated together in the songs of ‘Papihra’. Getting out of the current version of BIHARI music to bring back the original folk with the latest contemporary style was our mission. This can set an example of some good music, Bhojpuri cinema presents’’,
says the Lyricist and Co- Producer Devendra Singh.
Rajmohan, a Netherlands based Bhojpuri singer who is known for his Bhojpuri pop songs, is the descendant of Girmitiya labourers who were taken to Surinam from the parts of Eastern UP and Bihar. The film has 5 songs from popular singers such as Rajmohan, Pratima Yogi, Swati Singh, Prabhakar Pandey, Vikesh Singh and Reema Nupoor. Rajmohan, Ashish Mohanty and Chhote Baba are the music directors of ‘Papihra’. The creative direction is done by Manas Mohanta. Rakesh Vikram and Bishnu Kumar are the assistant directors of the movie and Nidhi Priya is the art director.
We always complain about the lack of good content and music, this time we are getting it on our screens. All we need is to come along and promote the right culture of our state and make this popular on the national level because good things should be known about Bihar. PatnaBeats conveys best wishes for the good work initiated by Witty Froth film and praise the efforts of the team to bring something new to the audience.
