Ludo King: Saving us from boredom this lockdown.

How did you spend the first few weeks of lockdown? Let me guess by playing Ludo or carom, UNO? Bingo!
Most of us are in lockdown away from family or friends. LocKing yourself away from the world with zero human interaction may sound okay for a few days but after a few days when we run out of things to do, this scenario is nothing less than a scene out of a post-apocalyptic movie. The only way we were able to keep our sanity was by occasionally video calling our friends and family.

All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. Well, it is 2020 and Jack is in quarantine and cannot go out to play. Fret not! Indoor games are here to our rescue. Indoor games hold a special place in all our hearts, from playing cards in Diwali to playing Raja Mantri Chor Sipahi when all cousins gathered together. Whether it was a playful game of ludo with our parents or a competitive game of Chess between siblings, Indoor games have always been a part of our sweet memories. Ludo especially reminds us of all the good and fun moments of our lives.
It is almost impossible now, to sit down with our cousins or friends and play on one ludo sheet because everyone lives afar. But with the introduction of the internet, the world has grown a lot closer and it has made our lives easier on so many levels. Playing games are no exception. It’s easier now to play games with family and friends who lives miles away from you.

2020 saw a spike in numerous online multiplayer games. One game, in particular, was most talked about. Ludo King.
Ludo King is a classic board game played between friends, family & kids. It is a cross-platform multiplayer game that supports Desktop, Android, iOS and Windows mobile platform at the same time. This game also supports offline mode, where the player can play with Computer or, Local multiplayer (play and pass mode). Features like real-time, options to save previous game and different themes further add more to the gaming experience.
Ludo King: the top-ranked free game on Google Play Store with 200+ Million Downloads was developed by Indian studio Gametion Technologies Pvt Ltd. The owner of this Mumbai based gaming company is a man from Bihar. Vikash Jaiswal is not only the Founder of Gametion but he is also the brain behind Ludo King.

Vikash Jaiswal completed his schooling from Patna and graduated from MIT Bulandshahr(Bachelors in Computer Science). He moved to Mumbai, where he joined Indiagames as Tech Lead in 2004. His love for games bloomed at this place. Vikash always had a dream to have his venture, and thus he set up Gametion in 2008.
Currently Ludo King allows you to play another classic indoor game called snake and ladder. Like any normal ludo sheet where you can turn the page to play snake and ladder this online gaming platforms does the same. You can switch the boards and play snake and ladder with friends or computer or local multiplayer.
Ludo King is among the apps that have exploded in popularity, with a five-fold increase in traffic during the lockdown. It has more than 330 million downloads, with about 50 million daily active users.
This just proves that we humans are a social animal; we need something that will keep us in touch with the outer world. Even though we can’t be with our loved ones physically during this pandemic it wouldn’t stop us from making memories. Playing games virtually may not sound so much fun but trust me it is! I mean yeah nothing can transcend the feeling of actually sitting together with your friends, family or partner and playing these games on a single sheet, but these online games have their own charms.
