In India, railways, which are often referred as the lifeline of the country, play a major role in our lives. Other than that, trains possess a special place in everyone’s heart. We’ve so many memories, both good and bad, related to the train journeys that we’ve had. Whether it is the familiar tone of the announcements at railway stations, the peculiar sound of food vendors or the bond which occurs itself with your co-passengers, memories and emotions find their way when you’re in the train. Having food in the train is a different experience altogether. What if I tell you that you can get that India Railway experience in a premier restaurant, right here in Patna?
Yes, you heard it right. D-Aahar Rail Gadi Dine’ in, a restaurant in Boring road Patna, is based on the theme of trains. D Aahar Rail Gadi Dine’ in was opened on 25th of November, 2018 and it offers a wide range of Indian, Chinese, Tandoor and South Indian cuisines for you to feast upon. And all that in an one of a kind
After entering into the restaurant, the first thing that grabs your attention is the railway track, laid on interconnected tables. These miniature tracks not only adds up to the train theme of the restaurant but also serve a purpose. When I say that they serve a purpose then I mean that their purpose is literally to serve you your food. Model trains which run on these tracks bring your food to your table. Watching the tiny trains carrying the delicious food makes the waiting totally worth it.
Tables are named after different railway stations like Patna junction and Mumbai terminal. The different light modes will enhance your experience as it provides a mystical ambiance to the restaurant. Talking about the idea of this unique restaurant, Varsha, one of the owners of D Aahar Rail Gadi Dine’ in said,
“Our house is located near railway yard of Rajendra Nagar terminal. So we’ve always seen trains carrying people and other things and that’s how I and my husband Chirag got this idea of a train themed restaurant. We thought that if train can carry grains, iron, and other necessary things then why can’t it carry food and serve it to customers. This is the first train themed restaurant in Bihar”
The restaurant offers various vegetarian dishes as well like Mushroom Tikka, Green Glouti Kebab, Paneer Tikka Masala and Chinese cuisines like Prawn chilly, Chicken 65, Drums of Heaven and others. South Indian cuisines like Uttpam, Idli and Masala Dosa has also made their way to the menu. Then there are soup, various other starters and delicious desserts to handle your food cravings.
As the restaurant is on the top floor, you’ll also have a terrace ambiance designed solely for candle light dinner.
