Berlin celebrates Bihar : Bihari diaspora in Germany celebrated Bihar Diwas

Grand celebration of “Bihar Diwas” at Berlin (Germany) which also marked the launch of a Global Bihari forum named Bihar Fraternity Germany.

The event was inaugurated by “Smt Paramita Tripathi” (Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy, Berlin) by lighting up the lamp. President “Mr Arvind Sinha” and Vice-President “Mr Prakash Sharma” briefed the audience about aim and purpose of the organization. Ms Neha Singh conducted an interactive session on “Role of Females in the Growth of Bihar”.

There were a host of solution centric discussions related to Bihar and Biharis, followed by some power packed performances. International Surinamese-Bhojpuri Singer Raj Mohan mesmerized the audience with his Bhojpuri numbers.

Bihari origin German actor Prashant Prabhakar Jaiswal enthralled the audience with his talks, mimicry, maithili poem and small acts. There were also performances like Bhojpuri-Hindi songs by Kunwar Abhinav, awestruck dance by little champ “Aanya Jha”, flute play by Ranvijay Singh and keyboard play by “Master Rachit Jha”. In order to showcase what Bihar stands for, we did invite non-Bihari guests to the event amongst which Ms Anjana Singh (President of AMIKAL) shared her experience of Bihar and Biharis. The event was also attended by Bihari artist “Mr Allen Shaw” whose paintings are still on display in Indian Embassy, Berlin.

The much awaited pioneer education welfare project for the underprivileged students of rural Bihar named “Project Jyoti” was launched. Executive Committee members Mr Ravi Baranwal, Mr Satyesh Shivam and Mr Zulfaquar Arfi went through the details of the project which included a short interactive session with the students and teachers of “Dighoun” village of Khagaria district of Bihar.

When it came to food, care was taken that nothing is missed and hence mouth-watering Bihari delicacy “Litti-Choka” was served. The World famous and Bihar’s pride Mithila Painting was gifted as a momento to the Chief Guest. The extremely beautiful and masterpiece sculpture “Didarganj Yakshi” kept in Bihar Museum also got a mention during one of the talks and it’s comparison with over-hyped “Mona Lisa” painting seemed to have many takers including the Chief Guest.

The super energised Master of Ceremonies “Ms Abhilasha Sharma” and “Mr Prashant Vaibhav” kept the tempo high. The regional team of Berlin led by Mr Sudhanshu Shekhar and Mr Asif Eqbal who were responsible for making the things on ground, ensured event is a grand success. In the “Vote of Thanks”, heartfelt thanks was extended not just to the physically present audience but to everyone who provided their support to the event from the length and breadth of the World.
