72 students from Bihar qualify for National Debate championship, Behes

Indirapuram Public school for Girls organized a two day national debate “Behes” in which more than 250 students from different schools participated. Behes is a non-profit organization working to promote debate, public speaking and reasoned expression in schools and colleges throughout India and beyond.

At the two days of the Patna Round students explored various topics from Music, Philosophy, Liberal Arts, and science.

In the junior division a team from Radiant International won the trophy, while in the senior division a mixed team from Loyala and DAV took the shiny trophy home.

72 students from this Patna round qualified for the National’s finals of Behes termed as “MahaBehes” which is about to be held in Dwarka, Delhi this 26th and 27th December.

On this occasion, the founder of Behes Salil Singh told Patnabeats,

“Patna is a very important part of our community, and the oldest round outside Delhi NCR, every time we go to Patna we receive more love than we deserve.”

He further added,

“We hope to include all of the schools and most of the people of Patna in our mission in years to come.”

The Director of Indirapuram Group of Institutions, Rita Singh, in conversation with PatnaBeats said,

“Member schools of the Indirapuram group have always been trying to promote activities where our students engage themselves constructively. Youth of today has tremendous energy. Look at the energy levels that Behes Debating Tournament has brought into Indirapuram Public School Girls in last two days! It has been absolutely amazing! It has energized our very core. Since last five years we have been providing international platforms like The World Scholars Cup and Model United Nations to the students of Patna and Delhi NCR. I am sure Behes Debating Tournament would have had lasting impact on the debaters of last two days.”

She further thanked the patron and chairperson of the school for hosting such a tournament,

“We are thankful to the promoters, Ms Meena Singh and Mr Vishal Singh, for believing in us and providing any and every support that we ever sought from them. Hosting all these Tournaments have only been possible due to their magnanimous attitude.”

Principal of Indirapuram Public School – Girls, Arti Jha told us more about the event,

“It is a good opportunity for generations to come, it let us discuss various issues. It helps students to be more confident, and also helps them in learning the basic ides of research, as research is an important aspect of education.” She further added that, ” Basic idea of Behes is to learn, and grow further.”

Talking about the school, the Principal told Patnabeats that in the future they are aiming to host many different national and international tournaments. Creo being one of the flagship event where they are welcoming all the schools of the city to be a part of a cultural interschool event.
