To Empower Over 350 Girls, A 7-Day Summer Camp In Patna.

An ongoing seven day summer camp in Patna, being organised by the NGO Nari Gunjan, aims to empower over 350 girls in three aspects – self acceptance, decision making and communication.

The girls between the age group of 13 to 16 years are participating in the summer camp being held at Lal Kothi Middle High School in Danapur. The camp started on May 20.

“The girls need to have a strong sense of right and wrong to understand all the three goals. We aim at making them confident and smart for the society,” shares Sister Sudha, Chief executive officer of Nari Gunjan.

She furthers adds, “All the three goals are interrelated. If you don’t accept one with heart and soul, communication with others is difficult and unless you will not communicate you will not know what is going on and you cannot be a smart decision maker.”

Girls at summer camp are divided in seven different groups – martial arts, dance, singing, art and craft, writing, acting and oration – depending upon their interest. Practical sessions are held every day.

Trainers from outside have been called to train the girls. Pertinently, girls from NGO’s centres in Punpun, Bihta, Maner, Phulwari, Naubatpur, Chapra along with Danapur and Gaya are a part of this summer camp.
