Shivdeep Waman Lande: Dabangg Super Cop

In a country where cops, are called as ‘Mamu’ and ‘thullas’ more often than anything else and are known to be the kind of people better avoided than interacted with, here is a cop who wins heart wherever he go- The dabang cop Shivdeep Waman Lande.

Meet IPS officer Shivdeep Waman Lande aka Bihar’s Dabangg SP who is currently looking after  STF as SP. The word ‘Sushasan’ might be just a political word for politicians but there is a man who had made sure the word exist in a real world. He doesn’t need any introduction for himself in Bihar, his works has done that for him in the past.
Shivdeep Lande was born and raised by a poor humble farmer father in Maharashtra, and lived his early life in a home with no roof and no electricity. He did his early schooling from Government school and post that he did his engineering. After his engineering he worked as a lecturer in different colleges for around 2 years when he realized he wants to serve the society. He wanted to be a District Magistrate for which he started preparing for UPSC. He couldn’t compete the IAS and hence opted for IRS in his first attempt, in his second attempt he got IPS which he thought is very close to his mission of serving the society. His first posting was in Munger and post that we all know what he has done for our state.

Fan Moments

Shivdeep Lande is  the same cop who received 300+ SMSes from girls, some even carrying marriage proposals. He was among those upright officer in Patna who was accessible round the clock. His stern actions against the perverts made him every girl’s dream man. SMSes keep raining on his mobile. An SMS accessed by one reporter read: “Sweetheart, the style of your functioning resembles the style of my thinking. Whenever you do a good job, I get congratulations. For, my friends know you are mine.

Shivdeep Lande does his work with maximum efficiency and instills a feeling of safety in the hearts of his citizens.
In 2004, while he was part of the the IRS, he founded an organisation called Yuvak Sanghathan.

Even today he donates up to 70 per cent of his salary to this organisation which works for the underprivileged classes.

Anyone in Patna can tell you about this supercop. His crackdown on spurious drugs, cosmetics and edible items; his 24X7 availability on phone and promptness to rescue damsels in distress; his raids on shady cybercafes and his ‘Dabangg’-like strictness in dealing with the high and mighty violating traffic rules saw him rise and shine in the eyes of not only the youngsters but also their guardians.

Shivdeep Lande is not Dabang just by his looks and what he do as a super cop but the way he carries himself,  And when he is not fighting crime, he is burning the dance floor up…

He has increased the faith of people in police, it is because of him citizens know, police would act if they call him. To a surprise when asked about being a Maharashtrian the difference between policing in Bihar and Maharashtra he replied: job satisfaction. “You know why? Political interference in Bihar is negligible.”

Man of Action

While one of his tales of heroism involves saving a girl from a gang of molesters within minutes of her distress call, another one tells of the time when he took on the illegal mining mafia, not every cop muster the courage to take on mining mafia. There has been a series of events where political class colluded with mafias to satiate their greed. Lande did not think twice before taking on the mining mafias. He had a narrow escape when members of the mafia in Rohtas district of Bihar fired at him.

He himself got into a JCB machine and demolished stone-cutter units. It was for the first time that 100 stone-crusher units were demolished in a single day.

Whatever be the case, the fact that hundreds of people protested his transfer when he was transferred from Patna to Araria is a proof for his popularity. Also, his Yuvak Sangathan has more than 70,000  members in his hometown of Akola. Add this to the nearly 20,000 Facebook fans he has spread across all his fan pages and it’s sure that he may be one of the most popular police officers we have in the country.
