It’s GUESS WHO AM I? #3

1) For all those who have taken a flight to/from Patna, have for sure heard his name.
He was an Indian independence activist and led an opposition against Indira Gandhi in 1970’s.
Studied in university of Berkeley and Iowa, and then returned to India as Marxist, he joined Indian National congress and was mentored by Mahatma Gandhi himself.
He was awarded with Bharat Ratna, Rashtrabhushan and Raman Magsaysay awards for his services.
He died at the age of 76 on 8th October 1979.

2) Born on 9th December 1945, he went out to become a legend in Bollywood.
It is said that, he was once asked to introduce himself and he replied with cigarette puff in air that read “Bihari Babu”. A bit exaggerated may be, but never the less you need to be talented to pull off something like that.
He joined politics and is a member of Lok sabha.
It has been two generations of popularity that he has enjoyed by uttering a single word, said in as heavy voice as possible, “KHAMOOSH”.

3) Known for incorporating everyday objects that are ubiquitous throughout India, such as the steel tiffin boxes used by millions to carry their lunch as well as thali pans, bicycles, and milk pails. From such ordinary items the artist produces sculptures that reflect on the economic transformation of his homeland.
He addressed his identity and rural roots through a self-portrait enmeshed in cow dung and a single LED-inscribed Devanagiri word, “Bihari”.

4) STAY AWAY, the girl has two black belts in Taekwondo.
She went on to win world Taekwondo championship in 1997 in Hong Kong.
Then there was a shift in career track and she entered in movie business, first appearing on silver screen in 2005 in a movie named ‘Garam masala’.
She, since then, has appeared in many movies including a Greek movie named ‘Block 9’.
Versatile as she is, it happens to be that there is a game made on her. 7Seas Technologies launched a 3D mobile game, The Alien Killer, with she being the lead character.

5) Started his first-class career for Bihar in 1982-83 at the age of 15, immediately after finishing his schooling at St. Xavier’s High School, Patna. His career-best score was 234 against Orissa in the 1990-91 Ranji Trophy. He was first picked for India as a replacement for Nayan Mongia in the Standard Bank Series in South Africa in 1996-97 and he performed well with the bat when he scored 55 on debut and a 38 in the next match.
Sadly, the effects of an eye injury suffered while keeping for India against Bangladesh in a limited-overs match in May 2000 ended his playing career.

6) He was born in Bihar in the family of Kabiraj Ram Lakhan Singh and Parmeshwari Devi. His father was a freedom fighter and was close to the great Gandhian Bihar Vibhuti Anugrah Narayan Sinha, one of the founders of modern Bihar.
He got a degree in civil engineering from Bihar College of Engineering, (now NIT Patna) in 1972. He joined the Bihar State Electricity Board, half-heartedly, and later moved into politics.
A very famous fact is that on 17 May 2014, he submitted his resignation to the Governor of Bihar – a day after his party fared poorly in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
A year later, he was elected president of the party and resumed office.
